And A Very Guinness New Year To You

So we went to Ireland this year, (Or last year at this point). We of course made our way to the Guinness Storehouse. When you're there they have a lovely tour that takes you through the process of making Guinness, if you're interested. Not that I wasn't interested, actually I thought I was interested, until we got to the tasting room where you get to taste a small bit of Guinness and I experienced something that I've been missing for many years, Guinness. I think we saw some other things after that, perhaps some old marketing materials an maybe even the test of the brewing process but I was anticipating the free Guinness that is part of your ticket.

You head up to Gravity Bar and you get to se your ticket to redeem your free Guinness. While sipping the dark goddess brew you get to look across the entire city of Dublin. But I digress. The point of this was to tell you my inspiration for New Year's dinner which was the little Guinness recipe cards they have hanging out around the Storehouse. Our Very Guinness New Year consisted of Guinness Stew, Guinness Mussels, Guinness Truffles, Guinness Mousse, and of course Guinness. It was very Guinness and very Happy which I wish to everyone. Perhaps I'll share some recipes happily converted out of Metric of course.

The Reluctant Blogger

I want to blog, I really do. I often compose these spectacular posts entirely in my head, but somehow they never make their way to paper, or screen rather. So then I try and come up with something that will inspire me to actually blog. Maybe I'll take a picture a day of the Buffason Babies and post it, or perhaps a recipe a day - well now that's completely unrealistic, how about a recipe a week. Or maybe I'll try a new project a week, or a new book a month, but nothing really seems to pan out, or maybe I just haven't found an inspiration yet. Or maybe,I ponder, blogging is just a bunch of people who really believe that someone else needs to hear their thoughts, which instantly irritates me. But then I think, I like other people's thoughts. Meg Schadal's blog makes me laugh continuously, and I love the dresses from Marisa Lynch, but I'm not sure I can live up to any of these standards. Or maybe that's not the point, I don't have to live up to standards, I just have to blog because sometimes you need to tell someone what you're thinking, even if no one is listening, or reading as the case may be. So here we are on my umpteenth attempt to blog, a post a day, about something. Something big, something small, something that inspires, me or perhaps something that leaves me one oil change short of a break down. Happy Reading.

Buffa Blog returns with new improved Buffa Babies

I started a blog when no one really blogged, or really knew what it was for that matter. Then I stopped blogging when it started to become cool. Silly plan. I've never been good at being cool. Even when I apparently have a leg up. So here I am now, something like 5 years after my last post (seriously where did that time go) attempting to get some posts up. I'm not sure what those posts will be, but I'll think of something, after I put the kids down for a nap, and give them supper, and do their laundry, etc., etc., etc. Hmm, maybe I should post about them.

I'm quitting bar review, and joining the circus. You can see me riding BoBo's mini bike around the Garden on July 24th and 25th in honor of those taking the bar.

Bar Review

So i needed a break from that horror they call bar review, and thought I would post on a blog that hasn't seen any action in months (of course I haven't seen any action either, so that makes us even).

I have officially graduated from law school which is probably the most anti-climactic thing I have ever done. While it's very exciting that you all may now call me "Dr. of Law" it is really unexciting that I have to spend the 10 weeks immediately following graduation studying for the bar. Speaking of studying for the bar, worst damn experience ever. I thought law school was a pain, this is just ridiculous. And it is of course no surprise that certain members of my family are completely oblivious to all of the work it entails. There's this nice BarBri lady that will call and yell at your family for you, and I'm seriously considering taking her up on that offer. Wouldn't that be the most embarrassing thing ever? Some stranger calls you and tells you to stop annoying your family member. HA! I really might just do that.

Other then that everything is probably status quo. Golum/Aunt Petunia/Kreacher is the same as ever (for those of you who don't know who that is, feel free to ask) but I seem to be more tolerant, which is nice I guess. Although I'm also on the good list because I planted flowers and got Scott to paint the front of the house, that always helps.

Alright, I have procrastinated enough for one day. After doing like 2 hrs. of MPT's I'm now going to work on NY essay questions somehow believing that might be more entertaining...somehow I doubt that.

Ciao Ciao All!
